Meet Madison Square Real Estate

Joanne Forkin, President / Managing Broker   cell: 984-116-6329

My husband, Mark Loudermilch, and I have always liked to explore different career opportunities and places to live.   Our adventures began in Boston when I purchased an historic condo from Mark that he had renovated for resale.   While he lost money on the sale, he gained a wife and producer.  One could debate whether he had a gain or loss depending on your sense of humor.  Job opportunties led us to Washington DC and later decided to create a bed and breakfast on a large country estate in Charlottesville, VA, a great place to raise our son Max.  Our thirst for exploration led us throughout Europe, the Caribbean and even a move to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While all of these places are totally different, the thread that ties them all together is the real estate: the love of old houses and experiencing life to the fullest.

Throughout the bulk of my professional career in Sales and Management in the telecommunications industry, much of my free time was spent working on a renovation project at home. Since I always purchase fixer uppers, I see a house as constantly transforming as it takes on the changes and improvements of its owners. What seems old becomes new again.

When I searched for a place to permanently settle down in, I looked no further than Savannah. Savannah is a city that people fall in love with and move to. With its astonishingly beautiful blend of architecture and landscaping, Savannah is a manageable perfect walking city that makes you feel connected to it and the people you meet each day. As Savannah continues to grow, as more people discover her charms and relocate here, the story just gets better.

After moving to Savannah, I decided to become a real state consultant and most recently opened my own brokerage in the heart of Savannah’s historic district. What better way for me to combine my business skills with the love of historic homes than to help other people find their perfect place. With an eye for location and renovation potential and a desire to help people, real estate consulting is the perfect job for me. In addition, as a new broker in Savannah with over 25 years of international business to business Sales and Management experience, my goal is to build a team- focused approach to provide the most exceptional real estate client services in the area.
